Blab Terms of Use

These are the basic rules for using Blab. By creating an account you agree to them.

Using Blab

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Blab. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or older.
• Use Blab to chat and practise languages with people you actually know.
• Keep your login details to yourself — you're responsible for activity on your account.

Acceptable use — what you agree not to do

By using Blab you agree that you will not use it to:

• break the law, or buy, sell, advertise, or arrange anything illegal — including drugs, weapons, stolen goods, or other regulated or unlawful items or services;
• harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate anyone;
• post or share hateful content or incite violence or hatred against people based on who they are;
• share sexual content involving minors, or sexualise, groom, or endanger a child in any way (see Child safety below) — this is never tolerated;
• share content that is violent, graphic, or sexually explicit in a way that harms others;
• spam, scam, phish, or impersonate another person or organisation;
• distribute malware, or try to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service;
• infringe someone else's intellectual property or privacy.

Accounts that break these rules may be suspended or removed, and serious or illegal activity may be reported to the authorities.

Child safety (zero tolerance)

Blab has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including any child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, or sexualisation of minors. This content is strictly prohibited. We act on credible reports, remove offending content and accounts, preserve relevant information, and report to the relevant authorities and child-safety organisations (such as NCMEC) as required by law.

To report child-safety concerns or any abusive content, use Report inside the app, or email nastia.ez@gmail.com. We review the queue daily, triage credible child-safety or imminent-harm reports within 24 hours, and triage other reports within 72 hours.

Reporting and blocking

Inside the app you can report a message or person and block someone so they can no longer contact you. We validate and review reports and may remove content or suspend or remove accounts that break these terms. Moderation decisions and reversals are recorded.

Learning aids are automatic

When learning aids are enabled, Blab can translate messages, suggest a small writing correction, and explain learning-language words. AI-generated results reflect what the other person typed — which may include informal, strong, or offensive language — and can be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate. The exact authored message remains available.

Your content

Your messages are yours. You give us permission to store and deliver them, and to process eligible messages for learning aids or notification previews according to your settings, so the app works. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

Reporting copyright or other IP

If you believe content on Blab infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, email nastia.ez@gmail.com with details of the content and your rights. We remove infringing content and may disable repeat infringers' accounts.

The app is provided "as is"

Blab is an early product offered without warranties. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't promise the service will always be available or error-free. Learning aids are generated automatically and may not be perfect.

Our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Blab and its operator are not liable for indirect or unexpected losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms removes or limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law — including mandatory consumer protections in your country. If you're a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights your local law gives you.

Ending use

You can delete your account from Profile → Delete account or request deletion on the web. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Blab's operator is based, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. You can always bring a claim in your local courts where your law gives you that right.

The rest

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about using Blab.

Changes

If we change these terms we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant we'll try to let you know in the app. Continuing to use Blab after a change means you accept the updated terms.
